Sam is a well-qualified Project Manager specialised in high-rise building, hotel & resort development and construction. He is passionate about sustainability and is a registered LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) Accredited Professional and GBI (Green Building Index) Facilitator and has ever since then, playing a key role in championing the sustainability design & construction for most of the projects he involved.

Sam has a vast experience in the construction industry from inception stage until the completion stage of the project predominantly on the project, design & construction management which he plays a key role in preparing the project budget, cost monitoring and controlling, prepare project financial projection for project annual budget allocation, manage the project contracts and agreements and recommend for payment, monitor and manage the consultants team performance, monitor and control the project communication channel, recommend the procurement strategy for the project, regular progress monitoring and reporting, review project works programme, to facilitate the tender & bidders’ pre-qualification exercise, engage with the hotel operator to detail out the hotel interior design, artwork design and operator’s branding requirements, to review the hotel OS&E & FF&E list and to ensure all items on the list is captured under relevant parties cost/ budget, to facilitate value engineering exercise whenever a better alternative is available, to facilitate a regular site walk & inspection with the site team and contractor to ensure the works are installed/ constructed following the design/ tender specification and the defects are being properly close-out, to monitor the relevant authorities submission status and keep track on the project milestones dates, to monitor the testing & commissioning exercise and to facilitate the handover of the project to the building owner towards the project completion.

He is sound knowledge, cost conscious, a team player with decent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated and result-driven individual that able to lead the team to deliver the project.
Sam was recently involved in two major hotel projects as the Project Manager for the Plantation Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel in Desaru Coast, Johor, Malaysia.

Sam has gained an extensive experience by working on few major projects in Malaysia including a key role on a landmark high-rise project at the KL City Centre where he was involved as an Assistant Project Manager/ Acting Project Manager overseeing the design development, procurement and construction of the project including the earthworks, piling and substructure works, the high-rise superstructure works, the building mechanical, electrical & plumbing services, building façade works, special/ facade lighting works, landscaping works, testing & commissioning of the building services and to facilitate handing over of the building to the building owner at the close-out of the project. He is also the key person driving the sustainability design on the project to comply with the green building certification requirement and to get the building green-certified upon the project completed.

His key tasks included progress monitoring and reporting, design management, cost tracking and controlling, project financial forecast reporting, procurement and contract management.

Sam’s projects’ experience has provided him the strong management technical competencies and the good interpersonal skills which is crucial to manage and lead the project team in achieving the client’s ultimate goal and to deliver the project successfully.
